mr fell...

Today I took photographs of my friend and martial artist John Fell.

The shoot was originally intended for the photographs of his entry in the Human Dominos Project, but, with camera in hand, as always, I got a little carried away and ended up taking a whole bunch of photographs.

Swords and all....eek!

she is...

She is my life. She is my future. She is my friend. She is my lover.
She is a mother. She is an artist. She is a breath of fresh air.
She makes me smile. She makes me jealous. She makes me swoon.
I love her. With all of my heart. With all of my soul.

She is beautiful.

She is Deanna Thompson.

She is MY love.

always better...

Sleep, who needs it right? Well actually, I do!

I have not been getting much sleep lately, I think it has a lot to do with all the rubbish that is floating around in my mind at the moment. You know, the kind of stuff that no matter how hard you try you just can't seem to put it all in an " easy to understand " list.

I was driving to work this morning and just happened to have my Nikon in the car. I decided to stop for a few minutes and take a few photographs of the sun breaking through the trees. It's not often i shoot into the sun to create glare but in this instance I thought " why not "

When I got it home and after processing the image I realised that if you just TRY to relax, things do always seem better in the mornings.

So here's to a good nights sleep (hopefully)

human dominos...

I was contacted yesterday via personal email by one of my contacts on Flickr.

He invited me to participate in a photography art project called Human Dominos

I have to say it's AWESOME! It's a collection of black and white photographs, semi nude, nose to naval with lighting from the right of the subject. It is a personal project of his and he was asking for people to submit a photograph.

It's open to both men and women and when I saw it I was straight into my cupboard, grabbed my soft box and tripod and....*snap* my picture was taken, sent and has now been added to the project website.

Here are my photographs on the site. I have put them together in photoshop so you can see the idea behind the project. (here's to hoping my readers know the basics of Dominos)

Please go and check it out and pluck up the courage to participate. Let's all help this guy out with this brilliant idea.

On a second note. From the original shot, I took a crop and created this

picture post...

I took a new portrait picture over the weekend. People that have commented on my Flickr and Facebook have said that I look sad.

Just to reassure you that I was not unhappy.

I was trying to capture a " this is me " portrait.

No smiles, no glasses, no messing about, just straight at the camera, me.

I think it worked well.

i only wish i had my Nikon...

On my way to work this afternoon there was a storm building over the Suffolk town of Bury St Edmunds.

The sky was just AWESOME!

Behind me the sun was shining bright and lighting up the wheat fields in a sea of golden colour whilst in the distance above the fields a huge storm was brewing and the sky was incredibly dramatic, unfortunately the storm never really amounted to anything but the build up was visual fantastic.

The only camera I had with me was my mobile phone 5mp, so I had to boost the contrast and colour in photoshop to try and bring it in line with how the sky actually looked. I know it looks a little " over dramatised " but this really is how the sky looked. Totally awe inspiring.

I only wish I had my Nikon.
