i only wish i had my Nikon...
On my way to work this afternoon there was a storm building over the Suffolk town of Bury St Edmunds.
The sky was just AWESOME!
Behind me the sun was shining bright and lighting up the wheat fields in a sea of golden colour whilst in the distance above the fields a huge storm was brewing and the sky was incredibly dramatic, unfortunately the storm never really amounted to anything but the build up was visual fantastic.
The only camera I had with me was my mobile phone 5mp, so I had to boost the contrast and colour in photoshop to try and bring it in line with how the sky actually looked. I know it looks a little " over dramatised " but this really is how the sky looked. Totally awe inspiring.
I only wish I had my Nikon.

camping and s'mores...
Great weekend this one. Tylar invited one of her friends from school over for a camp out in the garden on Saturday night.
They had a great time. The weekend kind of went like this...
Friend arrived at 5pm at which point we all sat down and ate dinner. Then Tylar, her friend and myself took the dogs, Alfie and Cinders, for a walk to Knettishall Heath.
Got back after about an hour and made a camp fire in the fire pit and roasted marshmallows to make S'mores (marshmallow, chocolate and crackers), which were great.

I left the girls to brave the night by themselves at around 10:30pm and believe it or not they stayed out all night long.
Today, Sunday, we went to the movies to watch Ice Age 3 - Dawn of the Dinosaurs which was a fun movie, although I have to admit to not seeing the first two yet! After the movie we headed to Costa for sandwiches, hot chocolate and coffee which was good.
Then it was the Abbey Gardens for an hour's running around the ruins and playing on the swings then dropped off Tylar's friend back home.
Watched Federa take yet another Wimbledon championship, this time from the grasp of Roddick, took Tylar home and then chilled out for the rest of the night.
A full weekend!!

(i have blurred out the girls in respect of tylars friends privacy)

a MUST read entry...
IT'S OFFICIAL!!!
On Monday the 6th July 2009 Deanna and I will have been together for one year. Now I know that does not seem alot but when you consider how our relationship differs from others you will understand why it's such a big deal for us.
To celebrate, Deanna, the sneaking girl that she is, sent a parcel in the post to me. Now this is not your average, run of the mill parcel either.
It all started with a card...

Then followed the t-shirt...

Wrapped in the t-shirt was a tin with a bow...

And in the tin was the surprise...

My engagement ring!!!
I was completely stunned, taken a back, shocked, emotional and SUPER HAPPY!
Here are a couple, more clearer photographs of the ring that I took.....

new set...
I have opened a new set of photographs on my Flickr account called ' on the streets '
It will eventually become full of photographs of random people doing random things. From Saturday night antics to day time shopping.
The aim is to TRY to create an overall picture of the people of England before I leave for America.
And as I only have, if all goes according to plan, 5 months to go....I better get a move on.
You will also notice that I have added more to my Urban set too. This is all part of the same project.
Hope you enjoy them.

dark city...
Last night I headed across to Norwich with my friend Mateusz and embarked on a night shoot around the city. The aim, was to capture the cities 'darker' side.
Matys concentrated mainly on people, drunks, that kind of thing and I put my focus into the streets, alley ways and dark corners. It was an interesting evening in which I only really got a few good shots, but, than can happen sometimes. Spend hours roaming a city and only come away with a handful of photographs that you are happy with.
We used it as a pratice run to see what kind of photographs we could produce. We will probably be heading out again in a few weeks, maybe to Cambridge.
You can find a few of the images that made it to my computer on my Flickr

save our shots...
I purchased Practical Photography magazine the other day and inside was a FREE pull out. I have scanned and attached for everyone to print and share.
Some of you that read this blog really do not need to use these, however, I am hoping that some of you will find them useful.
I hope it helps to improve your photography...
